Marianne Jones - Biography Television Production Marianne Jones was the Writer Producer Director of the first cycle, 13 episodes, of Ravens and Eagles. She was also a cultural consultant for two episodes of "Beachcombers"; a Producer and Consultant for the documentary Becoming Haida; The Final Journey of Bill Reid; Sound Recordist of the First Story documentary 7idansuu Potlatch; Sound Recordist for Kamloopa Pow-wow. Marianne Jones is best known for her years in front of the camera: Drama Production Support and Principal roles include: Nine seasons with CBC TV Beachcombers; Paramount television's "McGyver"; CBC's Where the Spirit Lives; Street Legal and North of Sixty; and Atlantis Film's Lost in the Barrens; to name a few. In addition to another dozen credits in television and theatrical film, experience includes extensive stage and radio drama. Experience also includes teaching with Spirit Song Theatre group and working as an Actor/Critic with the New Play Center and Praxis in the development of scripts and new productions. Marianne is also of Haida and English ancestry. She has been a principal dancer and singer with the Rainbow Creek Dancers for 15 years, a traditional and contemporary Haida Performances group in Vancouver who are lead by Robert Davidson. Marianne has extensive knowledge and experience with northwest coast cultural protocols. |
