Bert Crowfoot

Bert Crowfoot (Blackfoot) is the great- great- grandson of the legendary Chief Crowfoot, and is a self-made man with business savvy, and an unabashed desire to succeed at anything he tries.

Bert Crowfoot is also founder and CEO of the commercially-successful Aboriginal Multi-Media Society of Alberta, which owns five newspapers and a radio station. Bert has transformed AMMSA from a non-profit organization into one of self-sufficiency, expanding to become Canada’s largest publisher of Indigenous news and information, and a recognized leader in Aboriginal communications in North America.

Bert is also the General Manager of CFWE–FM, Canada’s first Aboriginal-owned radio network. With print and radio established, Bert is taking on television. He is the executive producer of Buffalo Spirit, a new four-part production that he describes as an “almost reality-type series”.
