Storytellers in Motion is a non-fiction series about aboriginal film, television and storytelling - featuring the storytellers themselves
Jennifer Podemski

Jennifer Podemski (Salteaux/Israeli) is an acclaimed actor and producer.

She first worked in television as “youth host” Wonderstruck, while still in Grade 7, and has acted in many productions since. The trigger for Jennifer to take the leap into producing was a growing frustration with the lack of Indigenous writers, producers, directors or crew on the productions she was acting in. She teamed up with Laura Milliken in 1998 to launch their production company, Big Soul Productions. With her new company, Redcloud Studios Inc., she delivers workshops to youth and encourages them to pick up a camera, to speak out and to effect change.

Interviewed for this episode while on location in Saskatchewan producing her new dramatic series, Rabbit Fall, she tells us her story; and she talks of the need to work together, “closing the gap, training our kids, and protecting our voice”.
