The imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival is a Canadian festival that celebrates the latest works by Indigenous peoples on the forefront of innovation in film, video, radio, and new media. As we visit the screenings, panel discussions, presentations and parties, we are immersed in the questions and answers, the action and the issues. The excitement and passion is palpable and infectious. Emerging filmmakers and wannabe directors of multiple genres can be found everywhere. Toronto in October is cold and windy, but that does not deter The Next Wave of storytellers.
