Vivacious and charismatic, Gail Maurice is one ball of energy wrapped around a focused and determined woman.

Actress and director Gail Maurice (Métis) is currently in production for her first feature-length documentary, Scream Your Dreams, about Aboriginal youth in Canada. Her short Smudge aired on CBC Newsworld in 2005 and premiered in the United States in the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. The film touches on the practices of burning sweetgrass, or sage for spiritual purposes.

Maurice has acted in Canadian film and television, including the lead role in Johnny Greyeyes, a feature film co-written by Maurice and directed by Jorge Manzano. She also had a re-occurring role as Skye Nighthawk in the popular Canadian Showtime television series Street Time. We talk to Gail about her passions and her plans for stories and life.
