36. Laura Miliken

In this portrait of Laura Milliken, Storytellers in Motion viewers meet one of the busiest and multi faceted independent producers working in Canada today.

As co-creator of Moccasin Flats she literally fell into the dramatic and creative scene when the series aired on the APTN in 2003. The series was based on social issues that revolved around the lives of aboriginal teenagers who reside in an 11 block radius in Regina Saskatchewan.

Her experience with the series truly expanded her horizons. But the mixed reaction from the aboriginal community caught her off-guard.

Getting to this stage in her life was not without gathering extensive experience in media.
